I’ve decided to make a lot of enhancements to the collection of my fiction short stories that I released earlier this year titled Touched. Its makeover will include a whole new cover, adding some new stories and substantially expanding a third, deleting one story, and perhaps changing the height, width and font of the book. About 95% of the stories and content will remain the same.
My goal is to self-publish the enhanced book before the holiday shopping season in a few months. That is of course subject to budget and resource constraints. Regarding the latter, two of the three publishing professionals who helped me to prepare my first fourteen books for publication have had situations come up where their availability is sharply diminished and their focus is elsewhere.
Those have been painful changes as I’m in the middle of six book projects including five new children’s books. You can see details about the children’ books at Clyde and Friends at http://clydeandfriends.com.
I realized I’d made a mistake relying so heavily on only the three publishing professionals and am remedying the situation by identifying, screening, and adding additional resources.
I’m delighted to report that I now have another amazing illustrator, editor, and book layout designer, and am exploring adding more and another cover designer. We’re in the early stages of our new relationships with each other, but so far I’m enjoying working with them and love what they’ve generated. I plan to soon provide more details as to same.
