Story Excerpts and Updates

My latest writing project, It Was Her Eyes, is progressing nicely. Until now, my writing for grownups has involved short stories. This is my most ambitious writing project yet. I’ve typed about 6,600 words, and wrote perhaps a thousand more (while at the beach yesterday with my family watching a bunch of humpback whales put on an amazing hours-long show for us only about 60 to 120 yards away.)

My story is already the length of a novelette, and a lot of it is left to write.  It’s likely to grow into a novella and perhaps a full-fledged novel. I’m rooting for the latter, but only time will tell. When I start a project it feels a bit like a race to finish it before I lose interest and move onto something else. I’m delighted I remain interested in this one. My muse hasn’t let me down on it.

I’ve finished about eight chapters and am working on two more. You can read two UNEDITED excerpts from this story at A Grateful Man at:
